Here are a few tips to help prepare you for a wonderful picking experience!
•Wear comfortable, closed toe shoes and be sure children are dressed appropriately for country living.
•Bring appropriate sun protection gear : hats, lotion, etc.
•Feel free to bring your own beverages (alcohol free, of course), just make sure that you throw away your trash.
•You pick at your own risk. Picking blueberries may involve hot weather, uneven ground, insects, and other conditions of nature.
•If you have any questions about how to pick your berries, please just ask.
• We love well-behaved children on our farm! We have two of our own and over a dozen nieces and nephews! We know what a wonderful tradition berry picking can be for a family. Please go over our Farm Rules below and make sure they understand that a farm can be a dangerous place if the rules aren't followed.
•All children must stay with their parent or the adult who brought them. Please remember that this is a tame but outdoor area where snakes, spiders, bees and other creatures live. Help keep your children safe by keeping them close to you and be their eyes and ears.
•No running or playing in the berry rows. Getting hurt is sure to ruin a fun outing.
•If your children pick green or red berries, don't throw them away before checking out, they will count as part of your gallon. If those berries were left on the bush, they would ripen for others to pick and purchase. We are very happy when parents teach their children about which berries are good for picking.
•Please leave your pets at home.
